Spend your Paris holiday at the Hotel Fontaine du Luxembourg when you want to fully experience the City of Lights. This lovely Luxembourg Gardens hotel is in the heart of the city’s Latin Quarter, between the Sorbonne (University of Paris) and the Luxembourg Palace. A recently refurbished boutique hotel, Les Fontaine du Luxembourg (which translates as The Fountain of Luxembourg) is in a historic building where King Louis XIV once housed his grooms. Its lounge, reception area, and guest rooms are arranged around an enclosed courtyard with walls hung with vines of Virginia creeper. A generous breakfast buffet is served in a breakfast room with authentic vaulted ceilings dating back to the 17th century. Les Fontaine du Luxembourg has a fantastic location in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, a 2 minute walk from the seat of the French Senate in Luxembourg Palace, surrounded by the lawns, gardens, monuments and fountains of the Jardin du Luxembourg. Around the gardens are located the prominent French engineering school Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris (abbreviated ENSMP and sometimes called Mines ParisTech) and the Odeon Theatre, one of France’s 6 national theatres. A 15 minute walk to the northwest of the hotel is the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres; the Sorbonne and the Pantheon are a 10 minute walk to the southeast.
